you’ve got read on you. (in sticker form!!!)

how is it octobrrr??
hello chickadoodles. it is us reporting from the depths of insanity. no, not really. i was being melodramatic. "where are the cozies??? they are missing from my life!!" you say. fear not!! we shall return quite soon with brand new materials. oh my yes!  October 13th you may catch us at the Blue Moon w/ The Resets and Valu-pak for free! And speaking of free if you head down to the Skylark Cafe on Oct 26th you can see us for free AGAIN with The Young Sportsmen and Twink the Wonderkid. Weehaw until then whet your appetite with these semi interesting show recaps. OOOLALA!

August 4th: Everyday Joe's , Ft.Collins CO
whoa whoa whoa was this one nutso. tea cozies had a fabulous homecoming show (that's where most of us grew up ya know) complete with crazy relative dance party and shortness of breath. apparently we have finally acclimated to sea-level. we played in a huge brick coffee shop in old town fort collins, and i think we may have been the loudest act to ever grace their stage. the sound guy actually seemed surprised when we unpacked our electric guitars! (colorado is very into the singer-songwriter acoustic girl thing, so we are alien freaks to them.) they were very nice however, and the sound was great out in the audience as multiple videos can attest. if i ever stop being lazy maybe you will see more of them. colorado was a blast per usual, and it was absolutly lovely to see all of our family and friends again!! i do believe mr. anderson enjoyed his visit, so it is highly likely we will return for a show again someday.

August 26th- Chop Suey
dear chop suey, tea cozies are in love with you. that is all. no just kidding i will write more. let's see let's see. that night we shared the stage with New Maximum Donkey, Get Set Go, The Hot Toddies and H is for Hellgate. a bill the size of Saskatchewan!!!! There were beautiful harmonies, pervy lyrics and bitchin guitar riffs all night long! One of those CA kids told me a story about how a bird once crapped in his bag of corn nuts right after he opened them. BUMMER. Huge thanks to Erin from the Hot Toddies for setting the show up, as a fine time was had by all. seriously. the cozies were in the topmost of forms, reaching new heights of spastic rock riffs we left the stage sweaty and bloodied!! (ok it was just a teeny cut but now my street cred is gone by explaining.) The Hot Toddies were fab, giving me an urgent need to don a poodle skirt covered in safety pins and band patches. or something. instead i just had some more g&t. by the time H is for Hellgate got up there and killed it, I was a dancing machine, and I apologize to everyone for having to witness it. There was a great turnout that night and we really appreciate everyone for popping in on a sunday!!!

Sep 5th- Sunset Tavern
the sunset was awesome to us, as they always are. mr. gnome opened the show, and my brain simultaneously. there were tempo and key changes galore and i had to keep my wits about me to keep up. exceptional musicians those two. and speaking of exceptional we also watched immaculate machine, hailing all the way from vancouver! beautiful harmonies, guitars, keys, loved it!! fantastic pop songs i highly recommend them to you. it was international night as we had some spaniards dancing in the audience as well. yes yes yes. (psst. don't worry joe, we haven't forgotten our tshirt promise.)

Sep 11th- Crocodile Cafe
this was a bill i tell you. glassy globe opened the show with a strange mix of roxy music and joy division perfectly juxstaposed by the singer's Ratt shirt. yers! and then there were Webelos. we love them. the weebies are so nice to us!! also, i think every single time i've seen them, i've told them they should be the soundtrack to a wes anderson film. do you hear that wes?? i've put it out there, out into the collective conciousness. so tap in! as for us? we played another stellar show, and got a live recording that we may share with you someday, if we're up to the challenge.

Speaking of sharing....very soon you will see the short film we wrote the sdtrk for back in may called "nzumbe," by adrienne hunter. and yes it is about zombies. and is bloody and gross. weee. i shall be posting as it is october people. the season of creepiness.

ALSO WE NOW HAVE STICKERS!!!! BUY THEM AT OUR NEXT SHOW!! THEY JUST ARRIVED YESTERDEEE!!!
if you want one in the mail or something hit us up yo!!!

oh july you slay me!

blogs? the blogs have been fasting for sometime now, and having reached enlightenment, they are back to share highly refined wisdom with the masses (probably not but we'll give it a try)

JUNE 27TH 2007-THE NECTAR RNR WEDNESDAY

the nectar. i'd never been to the nectar before and was presently surprised. she's a very pretty little lass with a great sound system and a lovely balcony. the resets kicked off the show with wigs, ugly sweaters with puppies on them, and songs about big titties in the city; rocking so hard it singly handedly spilled a drink and broke two strings! next up were the little penguins, our old buddies showcasing tunes off their brand new cd. all i can say is...fantastique!! they've got an awesome disc (which you should definitely check out) and we wish them all the best! then tea cozies took the stage. and we really took it by storm that night my friends. some kind of crazy rock hurricane, so powerful my guitar broke a string and decided to give up on life. after a frenzied match of "guess what the hell is the problem," young will let me borrow his guitar and we immediately launched into "pretty pages" complete with our very own guest maraca player!! then the entire place danced and danced and danced through the rest of the set until we all passed out from exhaustion and laughing too much. excellent.

JUNE 30TH 2007- THE SKYLARK CAFE

lesson of the day chidlers: if you ever travel all the the way to west seattle for a show, for the love of god don't forget your ID!!! it's quite a pain in the ass to drive back and retrieve it. the skylark was chock full of foxy ladies that night with the rat city roller girls bartending, bumtech, the sweet dizzies and silent mockery all tearing up the stage before we even graced it. silent mockery have some killer 2 and a half minute tunes for being so new to the scene and their set was so short the crowd was drooling for more. Extremely nice girls too!! Then we played, and it was pretty awesome per usual. oh and sold some of our brand new merch too. the cozies are personally handmaking our own merch and you can check it out on this here site.

JULY 8TH 2007 CHOP SUEY SUNDAY SUMMERTIME BBQ SERIES.

quoting our new friend brooke of sfe "that should have been renamed LOVEFEST 2007." seriously people, because it was. if you didn't attend you missed a bunch of kickass sets from graig markel, dept of energy, shorthand for epic and us; delcious effing hotdogs with cream cheese on them (i am suddenly in love with fieldroast oh my yes); and people rocking out to bands while eating hotdogs while the bands and hotdogs got progressively more intoxicated off of margaritas. i'll tell ya something, hotdogs are really delicious and all, but once they get a little tequila in them there's just relish and mustard everywhere. it's simply uncivilized. anyway, we had a blast at this show, and  look forward to rocking with our new pals in the future!

The Rendezvous March 31st, 2007

upon arrival to the venue we realized we had been hardcore upstaged by some kind of apocalyptic burlesque party. there was confetti and sin plastered all over that place. jeffrous was sorry to have missed it.

we hit the stage after ironing out some annoying technical difficulties which were partly responsible for the name calling that followed "tea cozies?! ha! more like too slowzies."  etc. we always appreciate a witty heckler. we opened with our newest song, boys at the metro, which is fun for us to play and dance a little bit to. also we get to curse in that one, which is number 4 on our list of favorite things to do when playing a rock concert (after 1. melt some faces with our killer solos... 2.get heckled by geniuses... 3. not break anything.)

after boys we played tranciting, 2:1(elastica), loxo, olivia, what do i do now, reglons, stirthecup, and like a friend(pulp.) hope you caught the 3way synchronized jump at the end of that song.

kaliningrad closed the show with a very colorful and energetic set. we could scarce believe that it was only their second show ever. wow. they also threw in a couple of surprise faust cover which made us dance like germans. ja voll!

BLUE MOON december 31st, 2006

it took 3 airplanes, two buses, and four different car rides to bring the cozies to the moon on this, the last night of 2006. it seemed the forces of both man and nature did not want us to play this show. or continue living, for that matter.

somehow we got our half frozen selves out of colorado to the venue, and even had time to apply our stage moustaches. the crowd was great and 70% drunk by the time we hit the stage which surpassed our expectations by at least 15%... nothing warms the heart like watching drunk people dance and yell things.  especially swedish peoples.

the actual playing part of the show went well, from what i can remember. we had great fun even though jeff was getting all the attention due to his very beautiful wig. after watching our entire set, someone asked me if we were an all girl band. looks like our all our disguises had failed... except jeff's. go figure.

weener was up next and it was our turn to dance in the front row. removed moustaches and cut a rug. champagne was distributed and the room average went up to an 120% or even 150%.

weener was great fun and hilarious. and skilled at enducing inebriation. homeboys got skillz.

setlist:

reglons, 2:1, trannie, kid, knee socks, loxo, what do i do now, olivia, new song, strrrr the cup, like a friend

if you were there and have pictures from this show, email us. do it do it!! happy new year etc etc.

MARS BAR november 19th, 2006

Let's see let's see how'd that go you say? It was a tad odd sans poor jeffrous but we pulled it off in the end. If you didn't show you missed out on an awesome rock show hosted by The Wig Fits All Heads--....Thunderbird Motel (quite impressive for a first show ever I must say) Kaz the Pwrful Powaaa (fabulous guitar playing, backdrops and humorous to boot!) and our buds Teeth & Hair (spastic fantastic to the extreme power!!) oh and you missed us then too haha. ya jerk...

Believe we're takin a breather from shows for awhile so enjoy the hell out of your holiday season, and we'll see you on New Years Eve!!!!!

ew it's almost 2007. that freaks me out.

JULES MAES SALOON november 4th, 2006

Saturday night in soggy Georgetown featured lemon throwing, hay stacks, martian beer, and the sonic debut of our new song "Paris Syndrome." Jeff's bass was somehow forgotten which caused for some appropriate panicing but thanks to the benevolence of the Urgency, all was well.

The Jules Maes is a very very bitchin place and we would love to play there again. Ten points to Georgetown.  Jessi's little brother was there and got  LIT. Thanks to cameramen Misha Burst and Chris Reed for the neat viddys which will be posted soon along with some photos.

Set list:

2:1

Reglons

Trannie

Loxo

Waking Up

Knee Socks

Paris Syndrome (new song! new song!)

Kid

BLUE MOON october 10th 2006

Tonight was especially fun because we shared the stage with our favorite local act, Daguerreotypes. The first band was called 80:20 and had a very powerful sound. They were amazingly tight and lovely and I would recommend them to everyone. Go here and be pleased: http://www.myspace.com/8020music

I don't remember our setlist, at all. The Dags were charming per usual. A really outstanding photographer named Cheluís captured all three bands... view his website here:

http://www.cheluis.com/bands/Bands/index.html

Thanks to everyone who was present and to Amanda for heckling us from the front row. We always appreciate a good witty heckle.

HIGH DIVE october 14th 2006

This was one of our favourite shows ever. Thanks to those who attended, danced, heckled etc...and a mighty special thanks to Christine, Misha and Frooty for being our merch whores.

We were lucky enough to share the stage with two amazing local bands called Come Say Hello! and Diosa. Please check them out if you've been depriving yourself thus far.

SHOWBOX september 18th 2006

Missed Tea Cozies playing the Showbox on Sep 18th?......Looks like you effed up.

Details later when we're not so exhausted from playing a 3 hour set on an enormous, smoke machine clouded stage while getting grabbed at by dozens of paid audience members. Jessi and Brady's guitars got fondled while they were playing, Kelly stage dived, and Jeff got his "buttocks" grabbed by a male attendee while floating on a sea of hands.

Thanks to the people who came to see us and also to the infamous fondlers.

SUNSET TAVERN july 13th 2006

The Sunset Tavern is Beautiful. It has beautiful red walls and used to be a beautiful chinese restaurant in beautiful downtown ballard.

Obviously this show was very beautiful. I think the sound guy there is Rivers Cuomo. Everyone was very nice. Our friends and fans were present and Frooty was dancing. We forgot to tell Bob (leader of the Cozie Dance Troupe) about the show and have since been scorned.

We were dressed like sailors this time as we were opening for the legendary Withholders and Mark Pickerel and his Praying Hands. I was expecting to see some nuns around but they must have been next door at the People's Pub,

Gosh those Withholders are beautiful too. Armed with the most potent wedding gear and pop hooks they left Seattle in a daze of misery at our loss and hope for future Withholder shows, We cozies offered up a Pulp cover as we've heard Valbert Smart of the WH is a fan.
